4) Why do I need Public and Product Liability insurance?

If your business deals with clients or members of the public, or if you come into contact with the public in the course of your business activities, Public Liability insurance should be the top priority insurance cover on your list.

Public Liability insurance claims are often extremely high, sometimes running into the hundreds of thousands. This means that a business which isn't covered could be in serious financial trouble if it found itself liable to pay damages or compensation from its own pocket.

5) Why do I need Employers Liability insurance?

Since the instigation of the Compulsory Insurance Act of 1969 employers that employ staff within England, Scotland and Wales have a legal responsibility to arrange insurance cover for injury to employees.

An employee may include (but is not limited to) any of the under noted whilst in your employment in connection with your business activities covered under the scheme; provided that work undertaken is under your supervision and control.

  • A person under contract of service or apprenticeship with you
  • A person supplied under a youth training scheme or job training scheme or similar government scheme
  • A self employed helper
  • A voluntary helper
